HookDin enables efficient surface functionalization to boost biotin-binding capacity. Notably, on gold nanoparticles (NGP) for lateral flow assays (LFA), HookDin demonstrates a 3× higher biotin-binding capacity versus monomeric streptavidin. Consequently, users benefit from higher signal sensitivity and a threefold delay of the high-dose hook effect.
In addition, HookDin exhibits the lowest known non-specific binding in its class, thereby making it ideal for spray deposition on LFA test lines. On nitrocellulose membranes specifically, it delivers ~3× the biotin-binding capacity of monomeric streptavidin. This enhanced performance translates to clear T-line signals, greater sensitivity, and a broader dynamic range. Hence, HookDin proves particularly valuable for multiplex and quantitative LFAs, especially when working with small biotinylated targets including DNA, aptamers, and nanobodies.
